
As September unfolds, London’s West End ushers in a seasonal change – farewells replace curtain calls for several popular shows. Here’s a roundup of the productions bidding adieu in the coming fortnight:
1. The Comedy About Spies
Venue: Noël Coward Theatre
A riotous 1960s spy caper filled with physical gags and clever misdirection from the creators of The Play That Goes Wrong. The original Mischief ensemble bows out on 5 September.
2. Evita
Venue: London Palladium
This revival of the Lloyd Webber–Rice classic features Golden Globe winner Rachel Zegler making her West End debut as Eva Perón. Directed by Jamie Lloyd, this lean, fresh take departs on 6 September.
3. Burlesque
Venue: Savoy Theatre
Adapted from the hit film, this glittering musical chronicles Ali’s rise from a small town to a dazzling stage, with guest appearances by Todrick Hall and The Voice finalist Jess Folley. Final bows on 6 September.
4. A Man for All Seasons
Venue: Harold Pinter Theatre
A stirring historical drama starring Martin Shaw as Sir Thomas More. It contemplates personal integrity amid political upheaval, ending its run on 6 September.
5. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Venue: Sadler’s Wells
This enchanting stage adaptation of CS Lewis’s beloved novel continues for a summer-only season in Narnia until 7 September.

Jazz Age glamour pulses through this musical adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, starring Jamie Muscato and Frances Mayli McCann, until 7 September.
8. Tina: The Tina Turner Musical
Venue: Aldwych Theatre
A standout closing, this long-running musical—celebrating the legendary Tina Turner’s life with electric performances by Karis Anderson and Fleur East—signs off on 13 September, closing a record-breaking seven-year run.
9. Fawlty Towers
Venue: Apollo Theatre
John Cleese brings the beloved sitcom to the stage in a nostalgic adaptation featuring three classic episodes. Enjoy the laughs before it ends on 13 September.
10. Inter Alia
Venue: Lyttelton Theatre (National Theatre)
Rosamund Pike stars in her National Theatre debut under the direction and pen of the Prima Facie team. This timely exploration of modern parenthood and masculinity plays until 13 September.
