Sonia Allam Casting (known for Brassic, Baptiste, The Spanish Princess), recently posted this Open Casting looking for a Young Male role for an upcoming TV project.

The Casting reads as follows:

‘SONIA ALLAM CASTING ARE LOOKING FOR A YOUNG MALE ROLE WITH THE FOLLOWING BRIEF FOR AN UPCOMING TV PROJECT

• Male with a playing age between 8 – 12 years old
• South Asian or mixed White and South Asian heritage
• Based in and around Greater Manchester

THE ROLE
A funny, eccentric kid. He doesn’t care what anyone thinks or expects of him and will say the first thing that comes into his head – he loves a weird fact.
He’s not always great at articulating his feelings, but loves his older sibling fiercely.

Filming will take place between October 2025 and February 2026 in and around Manchester, UK. Successful applicants will need to have good availability during this period. This is a paid role, and production will handle child licenses with the relevant school or local education authority.

We welcome submissions from all abilities and backgrounds, including applicants who are disabled, deaf, or neurodivergent. While this is encouraged, it is not a necessity, and the character’s story does not revolve around disability.

No previous acting experience is required, and we are interested in hearing about any interest in acting or performing.

As this is a child role, applications must be submitted by a parent or guardian on behalf of the applicant.

Please send us a short video (under 1 minute) of the applicant. In the video, they should tell us a bit about themselves, their experience or interest in acting/performing, or any other favourite hobby, and share one weird or fun fact they’ve learned.

This helps us get a sense of their personality and confidence in front of the camera, so please keep this in mind when filming. Kindly ensure the video is sent in a downloadable format.
