David Fincher is set to direct a follow-up to Quentin Tarantino‘s 2019 film ‘Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood‘, with Brad Pitt reprising his role as Cliff Booth. Tarantino has penned the script for this new project but will not be directing.

The upcoming film will be produced by Netflix, aligning with Fincher’s existing first-look deal with the streaming platform. This collaboration continues the successful partnership between Fincher and Pitt, who have previously worked together on ‘Se7en‘, ‘Fight Club‘, and ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button‘.

Details about the plot remain under wraps, and it is currently unclear whether Leonardo DiCaprio or Margot Robbie will return to reprise their roles from the original film. The first installment received critical acclaim and grossed $392.1 million worldwide.

This project signifies a notable shift, as it will be the first time Tarantino has not directed one of his own scripts. The director had previously planned to helm his tenth and final movie, ‘The Movie Critic’, but that project was shelved last year.

The sequel is currently in development, and further announcements regarding casting and production timelines are anticipated in the coming months.
