‘Captain America: Brave New World’ although retains the top spot this week, it has experienced a notable decline in box office earnings since its opening week. After a strong debut, its clear to see that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still in turmoil as Disney fail to inspire audience numbers.
Debuting in 2nd place, ‘Last Breath’ is a survival thriller based on the true story of saturation diver Chris Lemons. In 2012, Lemons faced a life-threatening situation while working deep underwater in the North Sea. The film portrays his harrowing experience and the challenges he encountered. Finn Cole stars as Chris Lemons, with Woody Harrelson and Simu Liu playing fellow divers Duncan Allcock and David Yuasa, respectively.

Despite facing competition from new releases, ‘The Monkey’, ‘Paddington in Peru’, and ‘Dog Man’ continue to draw audiences and maintain their positions in the top five. While their weekend earnings have dipped compared to previous weeks, their steady performance suggests they still have a strong hold on their respective target audiences. Each film caters to a different demographic, from horror fans to families and younger viewers, helping them sustain their box office runs despite newer films entering the market.
‘Mickey 17’ is set to make its debut on next week’s box office charts after a lukewarm opening weekend. Despite earning just $7.7 million on its first day, the film is expected to gain traction in the coming days. While its initial numbers aren’t as strong as some anticipated, director Bong Joon-ho’s reputation and Robert Pattinson’s star power could help it climb the rankings. With competition slowing down, ‘Mickey 17’ seems poised to take the top spot next week, provided it can maintain audience interest and generate strong word-of-mouth.
