Don’t you just love the BAFTAs? A chance to curl up on the sofa, on a Sunday evening, and celebrate the best of British cinema, as well as standout films from around the world, from the past year.

David Tennant, his second time of hosting the award ceremony, did a fantastic job, opening with a sing-a-long rendition of ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 miles)’ by The Proclaimers and adorned in a Scottish kilt. He even managed to get stars such as James McAvoy, Camilla Cabello and Anna Kendrick to join him in the chorus. He also mocked ‘villain’ Donald Trump; and poked fun at Timothée Chalamet pretending that he and girlfirend Kylie Jenner were merely lookalikes.

The awards themselves didn’t disappoint either, with ‘Conclave’ and ‘The Brutalist’ taking home 4 awards each; and ‘Wicked’, ‘Emilia Pérez’ and several others taking home 2 awards each.
