HBO has confirmed that production for the third season of ‘Euphoria‘ commenced in January 2025, with the main cast members, including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, and Hunter Schafer, expected to return.
Francesca Orsi, HBO’s Executive Vice President of Programming and Head of Drama Series and Films, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming season, stating, “We could not be happier with our creative partnership with [creator] Sam [Levinson] and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.”
The series has experienced delays in its production schedule, partly due to the Hollywood strikes and the passing of cast member Angus Cloud in July 2023. Additionally, the rising prominence of the show’s cast in Hollywood has contributed to scheduling challenges.
‘Euphoria’ has garnered critical acclaim and numerous accolades, including multiple Emmy Awards. Zendaya has won two Emmys for her portrayal of Rue, and Colman Domingo received an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.
As fans anticipate the new season, questions remain about the future of certain characters, especially following the death of Angus Cloud, who played Fezco. Additionally, Barbie Ferreira, who portrayed Kat Hernandez, announced her departure from the series in August 2022.
The third season is expected to continue exploring the complex lives of its characters, delving into themes of identity, addiction, and relationships. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the show’s creators aim to maintain the raw and authentic storytelling that has resonated with audiences.
‘Euphoria’ seasons 1 and 2 are currently available for streaming on HBO Max.
