
Whilst the attention may have been on the Kendrick Lamar half-time show last night, and of course the odd partial glimpse at the actual football itself (ahem, *American Football to be precise), we were keeping our eyes peeled for all of the film trailers (*movie trailers for our American counterparts) released in the ad breaks.
Audiences were treated to a series of exciting trailers, offering a glimpse into some of the year’s most anticipated films (one of which, our co-founder features in! Read on to find out in which film).
Here’s a roundup of the notable previews:
The sequel to the horror hit “M3GAN” introduces an upgraded animatronic doll, continuing her eerie escapades. The trailer promises a blend of suspense and dark humor, building upon the original’s success.
Marvel’s latest ensemble film, “Thunderbolts*”, brings together a team of anti-heroes, including Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). The preview showcases intense action sequences and hints at complex character dynamics.
How to Train Your Dragon (Live-Action)
Fans of the beloved animated series were given a first look at the live-action adaptation. The trailer highlights breathtaking visuals and the heartwarming bond between humans and dragons.
Disney’s live-action rendition of ‘Lilo & Stitch’ features the mischievous alien causing chaos at a football stadium, offering a nostalgic yet fresh take on the classic story.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning
Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt in what is teased as the franchise’s concluding chapter. The trailer is packed with high-octane stunts and suspenseful moments, promising an epic finale (featuring one of the Co-Founders of Lucky Break News!)
The saga continues with ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’, introducing new mutated dinosaurs and starring Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey. The preview teases thrilling encounters and groundbreaking visual effects.
Jack Quaid stars as a hero who cannot feel pain in this action-packed film. The trailer showcases a unique blend of humor and adrenaline-fueled sequences.
A new animated adventure featuring Rihanna as the voice of Smurfette. The teaser offers a vibrant and musical journey into the Smurfs’ world.
And finally, we’ve all seen it doing the rounds on social media, being filmed at F1 events around the world; Brad Pitt takes the wheel in this Formula 1 racing drama, portraying a retired driver mentoring a rising star, played by Damson Idris. Filmed during actual Grand Prix events, the trailer delivers authentic high-speed thrills.
These trailers have set the stage for an exciting year in cinema, and certainly got us excited! Keep your eyes peeled for the releases throughout 2025, especially Mission Impossible 8 on May 23rd 2025 (Who us? No, we’re not biased at all!).
